The curriculum of Brenau Academy may be described as traditional and college preparatory. The academic program is designed to provide students with courses that support entry into and success within colleges of their choice. This program is based on the major disciplines of English, mathematics, science, history and foreign languages. Elective courses are planned to stimulate and encourage students' artistic means of expression while continuing the heritage of Brenau in the performing arts.
The courses are scheduled in a traditional pattern for a seven-period day. Academic courses are scheduled during the first six periods. The seventh period is reserved for non-academic courses in the performing arts and publications. Following seventh period, help sessions are available with teachers. The schedule is coordinated to permit advanced students to enroll in courses at Brenau University.
Standardized testing is provided as a measure of student progress against the normalized population (NEDT and PSAT for freshmen and sophomores; and SAT twice each year for juniors and seniors).
