School Year 2010-2011

Need-based financial assistance is available for the 2010-2011 school year to families who complete the financial aid application process and who qualify for aid. To apply for financial aid for the 2010-11 school year, please submit the online application at www.sss.nais.org  and send a copy of your 2009 income tax return to the Admissions Office at Brenau Academy, 500 Washington St. SE, Gainesville GA 30501.

Q & A

Q -What is the application deadline for financial aid consideration?
A- Financial aid applications will be evaluated beginning in April 2010. Please make sure to submit your online application and tax documents as soon as possible.  Aid applications submitted after March 31st will be evaluated only if additional funds remain available.

Q –What types of financial assistance does Brenau Academy offer? Are there tuition payment plans or loan programs?
A- The Academy issues need-based awards that are deducted from yearly tuition dues. Monthly payment plans are available, with final payment due by March 2011.  No loan programs are available through the Academy.

Q- How are my financial status and my ability to pay evaluated if I am separated or divorced?
A- Financial aid is evaluated based on the income of both parents, regardless of martial status, unless circumstances exist which make it impossible to obtain the required information from one parent. Special financial circumstances, including non-parental guardianship, are evaluated on a case by case basis in coordination with the Office of Admissions.

Q- Does the Academy require a minimum contribution from families, or can financial aid cover all school costs?
A- Because the Academy’s financial aid budget is limited, the Academy is not able to offer full-tuition scholarships or meet 100% of the need of all applicants. Typical scholarships range from $1,500.00 to $15,000.00, and families remain responsible for financing the remaining tuition and fees for their child’s education.

Q- If my child receives financial aid for one year, what is the Academy’s policy for granting aid in the following years?
A- Financial Aid eligibility is evaluated each spring, and parents/guardians are responsible for completing the SSS application each year with updated tax information. Priority is given to returning Brenau Academy families.
